The FAAST FLEX aspirating smoke detector draws air through a network of pipes on which sampling holes are drilled. Each pipe inlet is equipped with a sensor that monitors changes in the air flow in the pipe, which can signal hole plugging, pipe leakage, alarm and pre-alarm. The air is filtered and conveyed into the detection chamber for analysis of any smoke particles. At the end of the analysis, the air is expelled from the FAAST FLEX and can be conveyed back to the sampled area. FAAST FLEX can be configured and started up using a dip switch without the need for special tools. The device is installed in a short time using a guided installation procedure. The detector can be fixed directly to the wall by orienting it in the most convenient direction, always leaving space available for wiring.
